Take a Peek inside Google’s Colorful Offices all around Asia

Google is known for redefining what a modern workplace should look like. Their first office outside the United States of America was opened in Tokyo, Japan in 2001. And since then, the company has opened more than a dozen in Asia alone.

In India, Google has four branches. You shouldn’t wonder about that because India being the fastest growing economy has become one of the most sought-after technology hubs around the world.

Google occupies the 4th and 5th floor of RMZ Infinity Tower E in Madras Road, Bangalore.

The new Google office in Gurgaon is definitely the coolest place to work in. Just like the rest of Google offices, it offers a colorful interior design with cafeteria and recreational area. It is located in Gurgaon’s Unitech Signature Tower-2 building. It occupies eight floors of the building.

Google Hyderabad is the largest campus in India with a total of 6,500 employees. The beautifully designed office is complete with a library, cafeteria, micro-kitchens, gaming lounge, massage centers, and gym!

In Mumbai, Google has an office in Maker Maxity but they are expected to move to a much bigger office in Bandra-Kurla Complex which is Mumbai’s most expensive business district. Their lease will expired at the end of 2018 so it won’t be long before we get to see Google’s new office at the First International Financial Centre (FIFC) which is said to be three times bigger than their existing office.

Next to India with the most number of Google offices in China. Although the company doesn’t have a very agreeable relationship with the Chinese government, they opted to open a new office in Shanghai. Because of content control, Google Play is not available in China, Google Drive was blocked minutes after it was launched, while Google Checkout and Google+ are on and off.

The new Shanghai office is located at the 60th and 61st floor of the Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC).

Google’s new office is located in China’s Silicon Valley. Google Shenzhen will start as a co-working space.

Google also has an office in the Beijing Fortune Center.

Hong Kong

Because most of Google’s services were blocked by the Great Firewall in China, Google decided to shut down its search engines in mainland China and moved all Google search sites to Hong Kong in 2010. Just like other Google offices, it serves a free lunch buffet for its stuff and a pantry full of snacks and drinks. Its conference rooms were named after Hong Kong’s streets and attractions. The wall is decorated with bamboo. The entertainment room has football machines and building blocks and XBOX 360, PS3 game consoles and huge TVs. Google Hong Kong also has a sound absorbing room where employees can sleep when they get tired.

As mentioned earlier, Google’s first office outside the US was in Japan. After 16 years, Google announced its plan to open a new office in Shibuya, Tokyo this year. Currently, Google Japan has an office in Roppongi Hills Mori Tower in Minato-ku, Tokyo.

Google officially launched their office in Jakarta seven years ago, aiming to boost the whole tech and internet industry in Indonesia. It has a very cool entrance designed with various musical instruments.

Inside you will find bicycles parked along the hallway, and just like other Google offices it also has colorful walls covered with murals and the white wall decorated with frames of various sizes.

Kuala Lumpur

Google’s office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is nature inspired with plant sprouting ceilings and realistic forest screens. It also has a cave-like boardroom with stalactites and it even has playground swings in the café. Just like other Google offices, it has a wide open space which is meant to nurture collaborations where everyone could interact. It is also complete with amenities including a colorful snack bar and arcade with chess pieces on the ceilings and tires for seats.

Google opened their first office in Singapore back in 2007 with only 24 employees, now that they already have more than a thousand to house, Google has opened a new office which is also a campus. Employees don’t have a permanent disk, they can choose whether they want to work in a group, or alone. They can share a space in the lounge, cafeteria or snack bars.

Google first set up its Taipei office at the 37th floor of Taipei 101 which is one of the tallest buildings in the world. It has one of the most breathtaking views.  After two years, they decided to move up to the 73rd floor.

Google opened their first campus in Asia in May 2015 called Campus Seoul, located at the Gangnam Finance Center. It is a 21,000 square-foot space complete with an open office, an auditorium, a dozen of conference rooms, a kitchen, common area, and a coffee shop.

According to Google, their goal with Campus Seoul is “to create a space where entrepreneurs can thrive.” Googlers can use the device library to test apps across dozens of different devices and operating systems. If they need to host an event, they can apply to use our large event space and classroom for free.

Google opened their first office in the Philippines in 2013 and the fifth office in South East Asia. Three years later Google opened another office in Bonifacio Global Center in Taguig. The design is inspired by the “Bahay na Bato” in Batanes. It also has windows made from kapis and Nara. The walls are painted with android versions of some famous Filipino athletes such as boxer and politician Senator Manny Pacquiao, runner Lydia De Vega and Guinness World Records bowler Paeng Nepomuceno.
And this year, Google is set to open its first operations center in the Philippines.
